Terms of Service.

Last updated 24 May 2026.

What this covers

These terms govern the public-facing surfaces of knock.works (the landing page, the diagnostic, the article, the comparison pages) and the Knock. engagement (the onboarding fee, the monthly subscription, the briefing page, the per-application receipts, the recruiter-name discovery and outreach drafting).

The engagement

Knock. is an operator-run service. You sign on with a one-time onboarding fee and a monthly subscription. The work happens weekly; the briefing page refreshes every Monday. You may cancel the subscription at any time by replying to any Knock. email with a single-line indication of cancellation. There is no notice period. There is no claw-back. The subscription month already paid is not refunded; the briefing page stays live and accessible for ninety days after cancellation.

You may pause the subscription for thirty days at no charge by replying to any Knock. email with a single-line indication of pause. The pause is most commonly used during an active interview cycle when the client does not want new applications submitted. The pause does not extend the engagement; it simply removes the charge for the paused month.

Pricing is set in writing in the intake email. Founding-rate clients (the first ten, through 31 August 2026) pay $2,500 onboarding plus $1,500 per month. Standard rate from the eleventh client onwards is $5,000 onboarding plus $3,000 per month. The rate that applies to you is the rate at the time of your onboarding email; subsequent rate changes do not retroactively apply.

What you provide is yours

The CV, the cover letter, the brief you write at intake, the names of the recruiters and companies you target — these remain yours. Knock. uses them only to do the work you have engaged us for. On cancellation, the briefing page stays available to you for ninety days and is then deleted. The intake brief and the per-week tailoring records are deleted on the same schedule unless you ask in writing to retain them.

What we publish is ours

The diagnostic rubric, the methodology page, the article, the comparison pages, and the briefing page template are Knock.'s intellectual property. You may quote them with attribution. Republishing the article wholesale or the briefing template wholesale is not permitted without written permission; an email gets you a permission line for a legitimate use case.

The materials we draft for you (tailored CV, cover letter, connection notes, post-accept messages) are yours to use however you choose. The drafting was done on your behalf and the output belongs to you.

Refund policy

No refunds on monthly subscription. The cancel-anytime mechanism is the refund equivalent; you stop the recurring charge with a single reply, and the briefing page stays live for ninety days.

No refund on the onboarding fee once the first briefing has shipped. The fee covers the intake call, the first discovery sweep, the first briefing page, and the first month of subscription; the work is non-reversible once the discovery has been run and the file has shipped. If the first briefing has not yet shipped (typically the first five business days after intake), a pro-rata refund is available on written request.

Force majeure

Knock. is operated by one person. If the operator is incapacitated by illness, family emergency, or other force-majeure event, the briefing schedule may pause. The pause is communicated by email within forty-eight hours of the event. The subscription charge for the paused period is waived. If the pause exceeds thirty days, the engagement may be terminated with a pro-rata refund of the unworked portion.

No relationship implied

Completing the diagnostic, reading the article, subscribing to the essay list, or downloading any Knock. material does not create a contract or a consulting relationship. To engage Knock., reply to umur@knock.works with a paragraph about what you are working on.
